Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Tim Disney (Walt’s great-nephew) prefab second home and guesthouse, located in the incredible wilderness landscape of Joshua Tree, CA. Blu Homes has been kind enough to allow a few visitors to its steel framing and foldable design prototype.

Disney’s main house is made up of two units connected by a site-built piece –one’s a 49 footer and the other is 37 feet. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,987 square feet. Ceilings are over 14 feet high. A expansive composite deck ties the modules and its structures together in its exterior. The property also has a guesthouse located in the privacy of a boulder garden. According to Bluhomes, construction of the modules takes six to eight weeks.
